Power cables down! We've had 10 days of power outages on the farm. Resorting to using various portable gensets to keep the farm going. As the picture show, the matter treated with the upmost importance by our supplier Western Power and we're happy to say the power is back on now!
End of the hurricane season seems to have brought storm tempest and flood. The farm was hemmed in on all sides by severe flooding across the county.
The Anderson centre spring seminars "The prospects for UK agriculture" event will be attended by the team here at the farm. Andersons’ 2019 Seminars provide the complete picture in a morning’s session – short-term issues and long-term trends; industry-wide developments and farm-level effects. The Seminars will cover the financial health of the industry, Brexit and farm policy, the wider food chain, sector-by-sector analysis and profitability outlook, and future structural change in our industry.
The end of an era here at Barlows Lodge. Here on the farm pictured, Graham Allen and Alan Parker after carrying out a whole of farm field survey. Alan is due to semi-retire after the sale of their farm business which adjacent to ours. We have collaborated with Alan for many year on farming Barlows Lodge.
Barlows Lodge attended the spring edition of the farm and rural business briefing, covering managing changing policy and output demands, latest tax changes for farmers, BPS and agricultural barn conversions.
